Patriotic uniforms are a staple of the Summer Lacrosse scene, but a lot of times it’s just about show, and there is no deeper cause behind wearing the red, white and blue. However, sometimes it’s ALL about the deeper cause, and Team USO’s uniforms for War At The Shore in New Jersey this past weekend definitely hit that mark in a major way.
Team USO was obviously raising awareness with their loud military themed uniforms, but they were (and are) also raising money for the USO via a donation page online.
Team USO was created in 2o11, and the team played in WATS. This Summer, in addition to WATS, Team USO will also compete in the Surf-n-Turf Tournament in Boston on Aug 17th and 18th. Their overall fundraising goal this Summer is $4,000, and the team has raised around $1100 so far.
I’m sure we’ll have more information from War At The Shore, and many more uniform shots, but so far, Team USO’s have to be our favorite. A great design, for a great cause, worn by a great group of guys… that’s Summer lacrosse perfection!
