Striker Danger Lacrosse Shorts: Jovan Miller & Steven Brooks Editions
We always knew the guys at Striker Danger had a flair for the awesome when it came to lacrosse shorts. And now they’ve teamed up with Jovan Miller to create a line of shorts called the “Jovi 1s”, and they’ve worked with Steven Brooks to continue his “Rip The Duck” shorts movement.
You can buy the shorts at StrikerDanger.com and no where else. Sweet stuff from the SD guys! They did our Southampton shorts too, and they came out GREAT!
Both designs are over the top and extremely creative. The Jovi 1s have a “Jovi Nation” logo on the right leg and a big ol’ Bull head on either side of the shorts. When you first look at them, you just think it’s a modern design, but there is a lot more going on there! The design seems to have some elements of a graphic novel included, like the increasing circul size used for shading in certain parts. Overall, it’s a very graphic heavy design, and the two main colorways on each short (Orange/Navy/White and Pink/Light Blue/Black) really work well. Some sweet, adventurous stuff.
Now the Steven Brooks “Rip the Duck” shorts are something else entirely. These shorts take images and make them super cool images. I mean one duck has a black mohawk, and the Mallard is wearing a Viking hat replete with horns and brass molding. I’m not sure what exactly is going on there, but I like it. The other pair is basically feathers. Real life looking feathers. With a bloody lacrosse ball sized hole through which you can see blue skies. RIP THE DUCK INDEED! I’m going hunting with SB44 this year if this is the way he does it: with lax sticks.
And as an aside, I HAVE to say that these shorts SD is now selling are totally off the hook. Who comes up with this stuff? Seriously!
