LAS Sighting! LAS Sighting!

Okay, Lax All Stars is becoming more and more noticeable.  I am beginning to see GTG stickers all over the place and LAS logos in many places as well.  It is an exciting time and here is another example – A Brine Triumph with approximately 2 days left to auction is going for $81.00, with 13 bids (when I wrote this post).

LAS Logo and GTG Sticker

Now, I do not have any special powers, but I am 99.9% sure that the reason there are already 13 bids on this beautiful helmet is because of the LAS Sticker Love.  The poster states:

I put the LaxAllStars Decals on for a little swag

I’m just saying, you can’t argue with success.

Now this is arguably one of the best things on eBay right now.  A Top 10 Lacrosse Legend‘s autographed photo.

Jim Brown!

Jim Brown!  Jim Brown!  Jim Brown!  This photo is set at Buy it Now for $169.00 and if I had the extra cash, this would be going up in my Man Cave no doubt.

Onto things I will not be buying.  I cannot even believe that someone would try to post this.

Oooh. Ahhhh.

On Amazon, some is trying to sell this one of a kind bracelet for $8.99.  Here is the product description.

Our shooting string bracelet is hand-made from shooter laces and by far the sweetest bracelet for any serious laxer. Each bracelet is designed with sliding adjustments to fit any wrist perfectly.

Now, I know what you are thinking, only $8.99 for a fully adjustable piece of string?  You are correct, sir.

If we are going to talk MCLA, Claremont has to be included. School sponsored parties with bikini clad coeds everywhere. Against UCSB & LMU there was a giant water slide on the endline. The entire campus puts on a swimsuit and heads to the party/lax game.

I’ve never seen a game at Claremont but add that to the list of must see places for a lacrosse game.

There are definitely a few other schools in California where you are pretty much playing right on the beach too. Probably not the loudest place because the fans are are sunbathing but a different kind of distraction all together.

I couldn’t imagine playing a game with bikin clad co-eds heckling me! Talk about distraction. One of the coolest venues I’ve played in would be Klockner stadium at UVa. When we got crushed by them it was under the lights with a full moon. Pretty sweet set up they’ve got going. As for being heckled, the best story I’ve ever heard of was from one of my buddies who was heckling so bad the cops were called!

Playing at BYU when they are broadcasting their games is a trip. Nothing like having a camera crew in your face while you’re warming up.

BYU was definitely a nerve-racking place to play. They make everything look and feel real official. Probably more than any other MCLA team.

Another one: Colorado State. Rams fans are into heckling and taking things a bit too far from time to time. Just the way I like it! On that note, CU and DU fans were pretty rowdy at the games I went to too. I guess it’s that Rocky Mountain High: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwARpaKHx_w

There are a lot of really good venues out there and a few come to mind immediately like Hopkins’ Homewood field or the previously mentioned Carrier Dome. Both are pretty amazing places to watch games.
Games between Salisbury and WAC aka the War on the Shore are intense no matter where they are played. By the time visiting players make it to the field, they are covered in beer and have been heckled by some of the most creative and inebriated hecklers this side of Canada.
The Phily Wings’ fans (being Philly sports fans) are obnoxious and rude. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
In the NESCAC I always thought my Wesleyan fans were some of the best hecklers and the inflatable pool by the side of the field always resulted in some pretty good stuff. The kids at Bates were always pretty boisterous too although the Bobcats are generally awful at sports so no one takes much heed to what their second string DE was yelling.
I always thought Harvard-Yale games would get better stuff. I mean those kids are smart AND like to have a good time but I think they just spent too much time comparing gold button blazers or something to come up with anything really good.
If you want to see some heckling though, I would suggest that you go to upstate NY and check out a Cortland State vs. Ithaca tilt. private vs. public. red vs. blue. 20 minutes away from each other? truly can’t be beat and the kids just let each other have it so you not only see a top notch lax game but you also get to hear some offensive and truly outrageous heckling.
