Lake Placid is said and done for 2013, and many are shedding a tear that it doesn’t last all of August. That’s just how fun it is! We got some new champions this year, and we’ll work on some more first hand updates and stories in the coming days. Here’s the basics:
Graph-Tex won Masters 1, and knocked off Burnt Orange, 9-8 in OT, to claim the title. Pete Milliman rocked it out in a major way and scored four goals and added a helper to lead GT to the win. Graph-Tex finished at 4-0, and outscored opponents 47-28 in the 4 games.
Power-Tek took home the Men’s Open 1 for the second year in a row, beating the Big Red Steelheads, a team made up of Cornell alums and players, 13-10. Chase Winter and Peter Baum led the way for Power-Tek, and Connor Buczek was tough all day for the BRS squad.

Speaking of photographers, our Director of Photography, Tommy Gilligan, was not shooting photos this weekend. Instead, he was standing in cage and letting other people shoot on him. He did send over one photo though, and it looks painful:
The photo was accompanied by this text: Cuse. Nuff said.
And here is another fantastic submission we got from Pat, who had this to say: Just wanted to share a photo with you guys that a parent took at New England Elite vs. Rocky Point Boys U-18 Silver division in Lake Placid.
Take a closer look at the shaft flying through the air. Do you see the craziness yet? No? Ok, look again. We’ll wait.
Well don to whichever parent snapped this one. It’s one for the ages!
