For those of you who didn’t catch the NFL Pro Bowl (I know, it already happened !?) there were a few big surprises, including the new Jordan Dominate Pro TD Cleat worn by Andre Johnson. While the cleat was actually leaked when Michael Crabtree rocked a set in the 49’ers big game against Green Bay, the shoe received a lot of press for the Pro Bowl. The new cleat, styled after the Air Jordan 28, is pretty clean. At first look it seems to be lace free.
In fact, when I first saw the cleat I was curious how athletes wouldn’t roll their ankles every play. Hidden under the outer shell is an inner boot with laces and more flexibility. The cleat really reminds me of the Huarache just taken to the next level. The Huarache, a lacrosse staple these days, features a flexible inner liner with a stiffer outer and lacrosse players all over have taken a liking to them.
Nike hasn’t revealed the Dominate Pro release date quite yet, but when they do I am sure lacrosse fans all over will be anxious to get their feet into these cleats.
