BREAKING: Harvard’s Custom Cascade CPX-R Lacrosse Helmets

Harvard has super custom helmets for the Spring 2011 season.  We got pictures from a reader.  You know how we roll.  Now back to the sweet new lax lids…  Yes, I know this helmet has no stickers, decals or logos on it.  Yes, I know that’s not a custom chin strap. And yes, the helmet is all one color, nothing special there.  So what, you STILL don’t see how super custom it is?  Really?

Look closely...

Look at the helmet.  What color is it?  It’s not red.  And it’s not marroon.  It’s… wait for it… CRIMSON.  That’s right, somehow Harvard got CRIMSON colored helmets from Cascade.  Now, I have no idea if this is something special they did just for Harvard, or if this is something they will offer out more regularly (custom team order helmet colors), but it’s cool nonetheless if only because Harvard won’t have a marroon helmet again.  They didn’t last year with their Warrior helmets and it’s great to see Cascade step up and offer their NEW NEW in custom colors.

Face to facemask.

It must give coaches at Tennessee, Indiana, and other schools with traditional, but slightly different colors, a little more hope that their team too can wear perfectly matched helmets.  Does any other sport even come close to the customization lacrosse companies offer?  Nope.  Not a chance.

    Big deal for GCC. We’re getting new helmets next year and have been plagued with the lack of a color matching helmet for years. Finally we’ll actually be able to get a crimson helmet! I’ll be in contact with cascade soon.

    Oh, and i think this might be part of those cascade boxes that keeps showing up on mr. tumbas’s blog posts…

      But if you get a crimson helmet it won’t match the non-crimson jerseys you ordered.

    From a player on Harvard, these are a custom color for Harvard only. The rep was in the other day and he said they do not have a custom color program, sorry William

      what a shame, guess we’ll have to give business to easton-bell/riddell instead, since they actually do custom work on their helmets. Oh, well, cascade’s loss on a potential 4,000 dollar plus sale…
