Editor’s Note: The Alexandria Lacrosse Club (ALC) is a member of the American Lacrosse League of US Lacrosse. ALC is currently entering its tenth year with a roster that consists of local professionals and community leaders in the DC Metro area and one of their team leaders, Michael Britt (played at UVa), stopped by to give us a little more info on the club. Sounds pretty fun! And these guys get geared out, huh?
This year’s roster is made up of former guys that played DI through MCLA lacrosse, a couple college All-American’s, three NCAA National Championships and a pair of ACC champions. Many of the guys play on the Zebra Apparel team for summer league and tourneys as well as box lacrosse in the Metro Area Box Lacrosse League under the moniker “Banditos” (uniform below).
This year, the ALC has partnered with Goals 4 Good, to put on a local lacrosse benefit game for the DC Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, which will be officially sponsored by VitaminWater. The event is run by a team member, a handful play in the event and many plan to volunteer with the event this year. ALC also plans to donate a portion of any left over budget back to the event, which raised over $6,000.00 last year.
The glove design is courtesy of Drew Adams over at Maverik Lacrosse. Maverik is a quality company with lots of quality guys over there… it is no surprise that they are adding new college teams everyday. As far as I know these are the first gloves that they have done with a custom logo patterned cuff.
Rumor has it that the shorts are on their way and that their will be some pretty special headgear coming in via Head Wrapz.
